Today is the first day of 2010, and so I’ve decided to post an obligatory top list of 2009. I spend almost 2 hours a day commuting, and 9+ hours working at a desk on the computer either at my workplace or my home studio. Naturally music is one of the best options for passing time more quickly. So here are my favorite songs from 2009. I’ve linked the songs to their Last.fm pages.
Ever played Halo? If so, this may be of interest to you. Video game turn movies almost always turn out terrible. However its still fun to see your favorite video game characters turn to live action characters. Check out this trailer for the new Halo 3 video game. I wish it was a full movie instead.
I saw the new Watchmen movie and was not sure what to expect. I read several reviews saying that I may or may not like it. I had not finished reading the comic book, but now that I’ve seen the movie I’m definitely going to finish it. The characters were very interesting and the movie was thought-provoking. My favorite hero, would have to be Rorschach. An undersized nobody who shows size doesn’t matter and sees morality in black and white.
I did like Nite Owl II as well, but could not help but think of him as another Batman copycat. People said the same about Iron Man when that movie came out, and I thought there were enough differences between the two. Nite Owl II is an idealist and probably the most “average” of all the Watchmen in terms of abilities, but with no obvious character flaws. Kind of like the guy that everyone gets along with.
I hope to update this post after I finish reading the comic, which is something I haven’t done since my days in middle school. In the mean time, I’d highly recommend any fan of the action and comic book movie genre to go see this movie.
